Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
New MUTCD standards for street traffic have been applied to all parking and off-street traffic areas. No person shall install or maintain in any area of private property used by the public any sign, signal, marking or other device intended to regulate, warn or guide traffic unless it conforms to these standards. Parking & Traffic signs must meet minimum reflective standards and conform to MUTCD for size, shape and colors. All posts used for mounting must be constructed for breakaway and mounted at minimum mounting heights of 5ft. from the top of the ground to the bottom of the sign in rural or low volume area and a minimum mounting height of 7ft. from the top of the ground to the bottom of signs in urban or heavily traveled areas.
